Mari Brooks works at the Humane Society of Genesee County, and her son Austin also volunteers there. Last month, they lost their beloved cat, Diddle. In the words of Mari, Diddle and Austin were "best friends."

Mari also fosters animals from the HSGC, and decided to put a "hold" on one of the adorable black kitties named Gizzard. At their "Hope for the Holidays" event over the weekend, Austin took a picture with Santa...who then presented him with his new kitty.

Enjoy your new furrrever home, Gizzard!
