Over the past few years I've become a regular at Hurley Health & Fitness Center. I was never really into working out until I saw the additional weight I was putting on as I got older. I changed my habits, but most of America didn't. Now, there is a new study which claims that most American exercise patterns haven't changed much since 2008.

During 2011, Gallup and Healthways polled over 350,000 adults on how how often they exercised at least a half-hour a day.

Fifty-one percent of the respondents said three or more days, 19 percent answered one or two days, and 30 percent did not exercise at all. When tallied up, these findings match the same survey done three years earlier.

The 30 minutes a day guideline is the consensus of doctors on how much exercise we should get daily.
