It's an iconic brand name and a staple in every school kid's lunch box, but stock up now because production has been called to a halt as of today!

Hostess Brands, the makers of Twinkies, Sno Balls, Donettes, Suzy Qs, Ho-Hos, Cup Cakes, Ding-Dongs and Wonder Bread have been engaged in an ongoing labor dispute with the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union. On November 12 the company shut down three plants permanently because of the strike, and yesterday the 82 year old company threatened to liquidate if not enough workers returned to their jobs to resume normal production.

As of this morning, Hostess has asked for a court's permission to liquidate company assets. Most of the company's 18,500 employees will be "immediately out of work" and production has been halted. Deliveries will continue, and retail stores will stay open to continue sales of all ready made Hostess products.

I am a sucker for Hostess Suzy Qs and Zingers! What is your favorite Hostess snack cake? Will you stock up now that you know the company is out of business?
