An elementary school has abolished homework. Don't think they're going home with nothing to do! The principal gave the parents and students an alternative. Details after the jump.

When the new principal of an elementary school in Maryland sat down with her teachers to review policies and homework assignments, she found that the two had very little in common with what was being taught in the classroom, so she went to the school board and proposed the idea of switching out the homework with more library time and 30 minutes of reading a night. Parents were supportive, and so far standardized test scores are still solid.
