Sadly, a great number of homeless people in our country are military veterans. Often times these people are not aware of the many programs designed to help them rebuild their lives. On November 9th, from 9-5 at the Community Outreach for Family & Youth (C.O.F.Y.) at New Jeruselem Full Gospel Baptist Church, 1015 East Carpenter Road, Flint, Alternative Veterans Solutions (AVS) will be hosting their 2nd annual Homeless Veterans Standdown Resource Fair.
Services available to homeless veterans include: Clothing, education/training, medical screening, flu shots, food, haircuts, housing services and other supportive services. If you know a veteran that is struggling, try to get them to this event. They have answered the call of duty from our country. Let's get them the help they need and deserve.
