Police are saying the driver of the car from Oakland County was traveling at speeds over 100 mph.

Grand Blanc Township police say a 20-year-old Oakland County man was killed as a result of a high speed accident that happened on Southbound I-75 and Dort last night. The accident caused a shutdown of I-75 for a few hours last night.

Police say the man was traveling at speeds of 100 mph and higher while cutting from side to side on I-75. He lost control and hit two bridge bases.Police sat the car was split in half.The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from his 2011 Chevy Cruise.

His name has not been released pending further investigation.
