Mariah Slick was one of four seniors nominated for homecoming queen at her Azle, Texas high school. But the unexpected happened Friday night at halftime - Mariah, who was born with Down Syndrome, took home the title, and the tiara.

Her friends say she has a warm personality, and she rarely misses a football game. But even her parents were surprised by the nomination. Her mother, Susan Slick told CBS DFW "I never dreamed she would be nominated homecoming queen, especially since she has special needs."

See the look on Mariah's face, as the announcement is made.
