It's kinda important to know what we're voting for, no?

There are three millage proposals and two bonding proposals on the ballot today. Here's the dealio:

1. Grand Blanc Community Schools non-homestead millage renewal

GB Community Schools are asking residents of Genesee and Oakland Counties to vote on a renewal of an $18-million tax on commercial, industrial and other properties. The millage is also being proposed by Byron Area Schools and Caseville Public Schools.

2. Millington Community School District Bond Proposal I

The first proposal is for an $11.3 million for remodeling and furnishing school buildings (exact wording can be found HERE). The bond would cost $3 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation for property owners for no more than 26 years.

3. Millington Community School District Bond Proposal II

They are asking for $2.15 million to build and furnish an auxiliary gymnasium and a remodel to the junior/senior high school.

This bond would be 70 cents on each $1,000 of taxable valuation for property owners, and last no longer than 20 years.

4. Westwood Heights Sinking Fund Millage Renewal

This would allow for the purchase of real estate and the construction/repair of existing school buildings. It would cost property owners $2.20 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation and run from 2019 to 2028.

Make sense? Yes? No? Kind of? Happy voting, Michiganders!
