Groom Sues New Wife for Fraud After Seeing Her Without Makeup

A groom in Algeria is seeking $20,000 in damages from his new bride, accusing her of not looking as pretty after the wedding as she did prior to saying "I do." The man alleges that his new wife "cheated him" by using makeup to conceal how she looks.

The man tells the court he was shocked when he got up the next morning and discovered that his bride looked so different. He claimed that did not recognize her.

“He said she looked very beautiful and attractive before marriage, but when he woke up in the morning and found that she had washed the make-up off her face, he was frightened as he thought she was a thief.
