The owner of Grandma Kay's Family Diner in Mt. Morris is accused of embezzling money from an elderly woman in her care. Tina Burton has allegedly stolen $19,000 from a woman who had given her Power of Attorney.

Investigators say Burton invested the money in her failing business. Grandma Kay's has been the site of two fires in that last nine months. The cause of the fires is not clear, but Sheriff Robert Pickell tells ABC-12 that the embezzlement charge gives authorities reason for suspicion.

"There has to be a likelihood because of her background of stealing money from a vulnerable adult, a business failing, and her trying to generate more money."
