It was 8-year-old Elija who gave Maurice Townsend the good news: "Dad, you're going to Hollywood!" Townsend, his wife Tiffany, and their four children were featured on Wednesday's installment of 'American Idol' which featured auditions that were held in Detroit.

Get used to hearing about Maurice Townsend. We think this Michigander has a shot of going a long way in this season's competition!
