Grand Blanc Township Cracking Down on Bus Stop Violations

The "intensified enforcement efforts" started yesterday.

Police in Grand Blanc Township are going to be following school buses along their elementary, middle and high school routes in UNMARKED VEHICLES to watch for drivers who are ignoring flashing lights and stop signs.

The crackdown comes after many recent deaths at bus stops all over the country in the last few weeks.

Police Sgt. Scott Theede previously worked in Florida where he was part of an investigation where a girl was hit by a car at a bus stop, so he says that he's not playing around with the safety of our children.

GOOD. This is stupid that it's even happening in the first place. If you're stuck behind a bus, sit and wait. It's better to be late for work because you obeyed the law than to be late because you hit a child.
