The sign, which has been up for over 40 years, is in desperate need of some repairs, and it's not cheap.

It's one of the first things we noticed when we moved here to Michigan - the "Jesus sign" for the Dixie Baptist Church that you pass on I-75 North. Many people would call it "iconic."

The church says that they have gotten quotes from several sign companies, ranging from $60k to $100k. They'd like to return it to it's original state:

So the church has set up a GoFundMe page to raise money. Because, let's be honest - passing the plate every Sunday isn't going to raise enough money. At least, not for quite a few years.

A lot of people have donated, not because of religion, but because the sign is an iconic symbol of going "up north." However, the page has been up for 14 months and has only raised $11k. Wonder if the publicity will help?
