It was anything but a routine traffic stop for Officer Jeremy Veach last Wednesday (May 7). The Centerville, Iowa police officer was in the process of giving a citation to a woman in an SUV when a perfectly healthy, 30 foot oak tree fell fell on him out of the blue.

Officer Veach sustained minor injuries, and said the falling branches felt like he was getting “swatted like a giant fly swatter.” The SUV was damaged, but the driver was not injured and she got out of her ticket.
