Each year in this country, eight to ten million lost or unwanted dogs or cats enter animal shelters. That's when organizations like Paradise Animal Rescue step in. Learn more about this amazing, compassionate animal shelter.

Paradise Animal Rescue, based on M-24 in Columbiaville, was founded in 2002. It is Lapeer County's first and only tax exempt, non profit, all volunteer adoption shelter, registered with the Michigan Department of Agriculture. They do not euthanize any animal, preferring instead to find all healthy dogs and cats forever homes.

This very caring organization does not receive any funding from federal, state or local sources. They rely on adoption fees, fundraisers and personal donations. Because Paradise Animal Rescue has tax exempt status, any donations made can be deductible on a federal tax return.

You can mail donations to Paradise Animal Rescue, Inc at 5380 N. Lapeer Road in Columbiaville, MI, 48421. You may also donate at their website with PayPal.

Volunteers are always needed, and they offer many programs for all age groups. Paradise also offers foster opportunities for those pets waiting for their forever homes and you can even become a cage sponsor. The shelter gratefully accepts cat chow, dog food, cat litter, dog and cat treats and toys, laundry detergent and bleach, paper towels, trash bags and dish soap.

I visited Paradise Animal Rescue this past Saturday, and I was so impressed! It was obvious that their animals were loved and well cared for. I could have easily taken home a few more pets to add to the Barber Farms menagerie!

If you are considering a new family pet, please consider Paradise Animal Rescue as you look around. If you like the idea of having a pet without the responsibility, please sponsor  a cage or pet today! To reach them by phone call 810-793-love.
