The Genesee County Parks and Recreation commission recently voted to allow Mushroom hunting on county park property.  If you are a morel lover, this is good news!

Nearly 11,000 acres of parkland will be open to hunting the tasty fungi, with the exception of For-Mar Nature Preserve and Arboretum.  The new policy goes into effect immediately, and will be evaluated at the end of the 2012 season.  If you love hunting for morels, you have a lot of new territory to cover close to home.  For more information, contact Amy M. McMillan at GCP (810) 241-0682 or visit www.geneseecountyparks.org
