Most of the county Board of Commissioners voted in favor of the change during a meeting yesterday.

The initiative, called Tobacco 21, is a national movement to raise the legal smoking age to 21. This is in response to a recent study that came out from the American Lung Association, saying that Michigan's efforts are "not effort" to reduce the amount of smokers.

Last year, Ann Arbor became the first city in Michigan to raise the legal smoking age to 21. In December, Muskegon approved a resolution to support Tobacco 21 as well.

What do you think? Should they raise the smoking age?
