The Genesee County Literacy Coalition has a lineup of trained tutors available to assist adults who need help learning to read. The service is absolutely free. The ability to read equals the ability to learn for most people. It also means the ability to function, to fill out a job application, to read signs while driving. Being able to read opens up so many possibilites. If you know someone who needs help with their reading skills, help is available.
If you know someone who could benefit from a tutor, contact the Genesee County Literacy Coalition at (810) 239-9425 and ask for Debbie. They also have help for those learning English as a second language.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer with the G.C.L.C., contact Aileen at (810) 919-5078
