No one likes a dirty diaper, especially the one who is stuck wearing it!

As part of National Children's Dental Health month, local dentists are on a mission to bring smiles by helping the thousands of Genesee County kids in desperate need of clean diapers, and participating member dentists of the Genesee County District Dental Society - a local chapter of the Michigan Dental Association - have turned their offices into diaper drop locations.

According to a news release, there are around 3,500 children under the age of three living below the poverty level in Genesee County and unfortunately, many of those children only get one diaper per day. Infrequent diaper changing can lead to pain and discomfort, increased risk of urinary tract and skin infection, and can even spread-life threatening diseases.

All diapers donated will go to The Flint Diaper Bank, an organization that provides diapers to the greater Genesee County area. To find out more, including a list of participating offices, visit www.smilegenesee.com.
