Furniture Store Owner Pays Out $7 Million to Customers After Losing Super Bowl Bet [VIDEO]
Store owner Jim 'Mattress Mack' McIngvale will refund $7 million to Gallery Furniture customers, just because the Denver Broncos lost the Super Bowl. McIngvale promised a full refund to customers who spent more than $6,000 at his Houston furniture store in the two weeks preceding the big game, and had their furniture delivered by 5:00 pm Sunday. Now he says he's willingly delivering on that promise.
"As far as financially, we didn't do well," he said. "But we did a great job building the brand and delighting customers and if we do that, the business will continue to grow."
McIngvale says customers came from as far away as Louisiana to take advantage of the store's offer.
