Free Food Distribution for Area’s Needy Families
This is a cause which I'm personally very excited about, and proud of as well! Once again, Holy Spirit Lutheran Church in Grand Blanc is hosting a food distribution for the area's needy families and individuals.
Each month this summer, HSLC will purchase thousands of pounds of food from the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, and distribute it on a first-come, first-served basis. The next food distribution is this Saturday, May 14th from 10 a.m. to noon. Please tell anyone you know who may benefit from this service that they are welcome. No proof of income or need is required, recipients need only bring a driver's license, or photo ID.
Staples of canned goods and boxed foods, as well as a limited number of fresh and frozen items will be given away. Last year, HSLC and volunteers from area churches and community organizations handed out food to more than 6,000 people in our area. Church leaders hope to help even more needy families this year.
Additional food distribution dates are set for the following Saturdays: June 4th, July 9th, August 6th, September 10th and October 1st. Each is slated for 10 a.m. to noon. Holy Spirit is located at 7234 Fenton Rd., in Grand Blanc. (Fenton Rd., just north of Grand Blanc Rd.)
