Free Fishing Weekend Feb. 19-20th

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources & Environment (DNRE) invites you to take part in the annual Winter Free Fishing Weekend February 19-20th on all Michigan waters.On that weekend, both residents and non-residents can fish without a license, although all other fishing regulations apply.  Many state parks and organizations have events planned to coincide with the weekend, with several providing bait and equipment for those wishing to go fishing!  7 Lakes State Park in Holly Township is one of them, hosting an ice fishing derby on Saturday.  With the recent warm weather, the only question is whether or not it will be ice or open water fishing.  www.michigan.gov/freefishing
