Longtime WNEM anchor Dick Fabian has died.

Dick Fabian began his broadcast career at a Detroit-area hospital, where he played music and read notes for terminally-ill patients. He spent several years at Saginaw's WKNX radio, before his transition to television in the early 70s. Although he spent a few years at WEYI, Fabian is best remembered for his work at WNEM TV-5 as host of the popular 'PM Magazine' show.

As a versatile broadcaster, Fabian also served as a weatherman, and as the main anchor for WNEM's 5 pm newscast, 'Take 5.'

Fabian and his WKNX radio co-host Bob Dyer were selected as Honorary Inductees to the Michigan Rock and Roll Legends Hall of Fame in 2013.

Fabian's passing comes just one month after WNEM anchor Sam Merrill's sudden death on February 25th.
