Some great news for Michigan in 2017.

Mlive is reporting that during a press conference with Ford CEO Mark Fields this afternoon, Ford Motor Company has announced that they canceling plans for a new assembly plant in Mexico and instead, investing $700 million in a Flat Rock, Michigan plant.

Fields also mentioned that the company will overall invest $4.5 billion in new electric vehicles that will be made in Michigan with this new investment. The investment into the Flat Rock plant will add about 700 direct jobs.
