Holy Spirit Lutheran Church in Grand Blanc will once again distribute free food to the area's needy families this Saturday. The church offers free food provided by the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan.

In each of the last three months, 250 families have been served, each receiving a generous amount of groceries.

Recipients are given canned and boxed goods, and there is also a limited amount of fresh and frozen items available. Everything is distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tomorrow's (Aug 18th) distribution is scheduled from 9:30 to 11:30 am, or until the food supply is depleted.

Additional food giveaways are planned for September 15th and October 6th, rain or shine.

No proof of income or need is required, but recipients must present a driver's license or photo ID.

"Holy Spirit is glad to provide the assistance to those who are in need. The church sees these food distributions as a natural consequence of our mission to share God's love," said Pastor Will Stenke.

Holy Spirit Lutheran Church is located at 7234 Fenton Rd. in Grand Blanc. It's on the west side of Fenton Road, approximately one quarter mile north of Grand Blanc Road.
