If you or those around you have been feeling poorly lately, it's not an isolated incident.  According to the Genesee County Health Department, Flu is spreading quickly in Genesee County. There have been two deaths in Genesee County with confirmed influenza, one was an infant.  It is not too late to get vaccinated against influenza.  The CDC recommends that everyone 6 months and older get vaccinated each year.  Vaccination is especially important for those at high risk for serious flu complications, including young children, pregnant women, people 65 and older, and people of any age with chronic health conditions (such as asthma, diabetes or heart disease).  You can protect yourself and others from the flu by washing your hands often with soap and water and covering your coughs and sneezes.  If you are sick, you are encouraged to stay home as much as possible except to seek medical care.  Hope you don't catch this bug!  I've been fighting it for 9 days now and just can't seem to shake it.   For more information about influenza, visit the GCHD web site at:  www.gchd.us
