Flint Township is now home to one of the best beers in the US, thanks to Redwood Brewing Company, which was awarded a silver medal for its 'Hazelnut Coffee Cream Stout' at the 2012 Great American Beer Festival in Denver.

The Great American Beer Festival is the largest national beer competition in the country, and recognizes the most outstanding beers produced in the United States. The top three winners in the competition’s 84 beer-style categories were announced October 13 at the Great American Beer Festival awards ceremony held at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colorado.

Konrad Connor and Redwood Brewing Company were featured at Cars 108's Michigan Food Beer and Wine Festival on November 10th.

Redwood Brewing Co was recognized in the 'Coffee Beer' beer-style category for its Hazelnut Coffee Cream Stout, an English style Sweet Stout with Espresso and Hazelnut Coffee.

Winners were chosen by a panel of 185 expert judges, and festival director Nancy Johnson praised the winners.

"The Great American Beer Festival is the premier beer competition for the American beer industry. Winning a medal, no matter if it’s gold, silver or bronze, is truly an accomplishment.”
