Flint Township Looks to Shed Its Name, Distance Itself From Flint [VIDEO]

"Welcome to Carman Hills." That could be on a sign as you enter what is now known as Flint Township.

A suggestion committee tells ABC-12 that they narrowed their choice down from over 100 possible names, as the township looks to shed the name that associates it with the city of Flint.

The next step is get approval from the County Board of Commissioners and people who live in Flint Township.

It remains unclear as to how the Township will go about gaining approval from residents.
