A Flint substitute teacher has been fired for putting duct tape over a second-grade student's mouth. However, authorities are still investigating, because the principal reportedly punished the teacher by putting duct tape over his mouth.

The teacher suffered a cut lip in the December 3rd incident, and has since filed assault charges against the principal.

The Detroit Free Press reports that  Flint police Chief James Tolbert indicated there is not enough evidence to seek criminal charges against the principal.
