It was a busy holiday weekend for Flint firefighters, as they dealt with 11 fires, including eight suspected arsons at abandoned homes, according to WNEM.

Last night, crews were on the scene at Spooner Metals salvage yard and it took roughly seven hours to put out. Battalion Chief John Babb says the cause isn't known and other departments were also on hand to assist.

Babb also went on to say that the suspected arsons took place on the city's east and south side, while two fires took place at occupied homes. No other details have been released. As always, if you have any information, call Crime Stoppers at (800) 422-jail.
