When you open up your water bill in January and February, you're going to notice a change. Here's why.

The City of Flint announced that water bills due for January 27 & 28, and all bills with due dates in February, will reflect “estimated” meter reads rather than “actual” reads.

The City’s Customer Service Department says an equipment failure at the Water Service Center is to blame for the problem and is in the process of being corrected. The estimates for residents’ water bills will be based on an average of the home’s regular usage. The City says once the problem is resolved, any high estimates will be credited on the following bill cycle.
