The Flint Police Department has seen budget cut after budget cut in the last few years. Now residents are seeing longer wait times for calls, and the Flint Police Chief says he needs more officers. At one time the Flint Police Department had more than 400 officers, after all the cuts the city has less than one-third that number.

Police Chief Tim Johnson says current officers are working double and triple time to keep the city safe. He would like to give current officers a raise, as well as hire new officers for the city. Chief Johnson has reached out to city council for help.
