The passes will be donated to six local agencies that help those in need in our community.

Flint MTA has partnered with the United Way and Huntington Bank for the Emergency Bus Pass Program to give out 13,000 bus passes to people who need it the most.

The agencies receiving them are Catholic Charities of Shiawassee and Genesee Counties, Genesee County Salvation Army, the Shelter of Flint, Foster Grandparents, Eastside Compassionate Mission, Faith Foundation Resources and St. Luke's New Life Center.

The Emergency Bus Pass Program is available to non-profit organizations who help get their clients to medical and employment appointments, grocery stores, etc.

If you're part of a non-profit who would like to take part in this program, you can email mbishop@unitedwaygenesee.org
