The City of Flint will be getting a $3 Million grant from the W.K. Kellog Foundation. Mayer Karen Weaver announced in a press conference today (Monday) that she plans to hire an economic development team for the city.

According to MLive, the city plans to start with three new hires for the economic development team. This, of course, comes after they find a director for the team. Funding from the grant will be available to the new team for four years.

Once a team is developed, they will work closely with the planning and development department. The planning and development department has been doing a small portion of the economic development duties.
