We first reported the upcoming expansion of MSU's Flint, MI footprint back in October.

With that expansion so close to the Flint Farmers' Market, it means a new customer parking solution is needed.

New, Free parking for Downtown Flint's Farmers' Market Customers

Flint's Downtown Development Authority announced, on Facebook, 75 new and free parking spaces have been created for Farmers' Market customers.

These spaces were formerly vendor parking.

Flint Farmer's Market parking

Parking is available on either side of the outdoor pavilion (the area was formerly for vendors only).

Keep in mind, parking is free, but timed for two hours.

You'll want to make sure you don't end up with a ticket or towed for hanging out too long in one spot.

Which streets are free to park around Flint Farmers' Market?

Patrons can park along 2nd Street between Harrison and Stevens.

On the north side of Flint Farmers' Market, you'll park along a portion of 1st Street up to the corner of Stevens. A portion of Stevens, along the eastern edge of the market, is available for free.

Don't worry about much of a walk with the new parking situation. The building has multiple entrances for your convenience.

Remembering the Grand Opening of AutoWorld in Flint, Michigan

A short-lived Six Flags theme park, AutoWorld was supposed to be a tourist destination in Flint. Sadly, after several starts and stops, AutoWorld was imploded in early 1997. The land is now owned by University of Michigan-Flint and is home to the William S White Building.
