The Flint Farmer's Market hopes to bring fresh produce to the people by creating two small neighborhood markets in the city of Flint, one on the north end and the other on the south. Many residents lack transportation, many are elderly or infirm. Putting a market closer to where they live will give them better access to fresh, healthy, locally grown produce.

Many residents have started their own gardens, some individual, some school, and some community. Together with volunteers from Edible Flint, they have announced plans to launch two markets this summer. Money is being raised through the website www.indiegogo.com A total of $10,000 is needed to make the two markets possible. Matching funds will come from local foundations, organizations and businesses.

The Flint Farmer's Market is open year-round on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. They offer local produce, meats, cheeses, baked goods, beer, wine, art and much more. Visit them in person, or online: www.flintfarmersmarket.com
