A Flint-area team competing in this week's 2015 World Games in Los Angeles is getting some special attention from ESPN.

In the video below, you'll meet Dalvin Kellar. Kellar is a member of the Area 13 men's volleyball squad from the greater Flint Region, headed west for the World Games which begin on Saturday. (7/25)

"I live in a bad part of Flint ... on the north side. And it's hard for us to even go somewhere, without people dying. I didn't want to be just another guy in the neighborhood getting killed. Without Special Olympics in my life, I would probably be dead. This gave me another hope for a different outcome."

Behind every great team is a great coach. Grand Blanc resident Sheila Gafney works with physically and mentally impaired students at the Elmer Knopf Learning Center in Flint, and has spent the last year preparing for the trip.

It's great to see Flint get some good press isn't it?

ESPN puts the spotlight on Kellar and several other members of Gafney's Flint team here.
