A little boy from the UK was given an invoice for approx. $24 for missing his friend's birthday party after he had already confirmed that he'd be there.

Alex Nash, who lives in England, was sent home from school with an invoice in his backpack. The invoice was a fee for missing his friend's birthday party at a ski resort. His father, Derek, had confirmed that would be attending the party, but had forgotten about some previous plans. He couldn't find the birthday boy's contact information, and Alex was a no-show.

Derek showed up to the boy's house and confronted his mother, saying that she should have confronted him before sending his son home with an invoice. He claims that she's threatening to take them to small claims court.

We just went through this! Our son invited 8 kids to his birthday party, and we had to pre-pay for all of them. Only one of them called us to confirm; three others showed up the day of. We ended up paying for the four kids that didn't RSVP and didn't show up! Our situation was a little bit different, since most of the kids didn't even RSVP. Maybe I'm crazy, but I think this dad should pay the money! However, the mother did NOT go about it the right way. She should've confronted him in person. What do you think?
