Over 200 people attended the event, which was held over the weekend.

Crystal Brown's 25-year-old niece has Down Syndrome, and was never able to attend her own prom. And Crystal wanted to do something about that.

She set up a GoFundMe account that ended up raising over $2,700 to fund the event. Crystal wanted other people, who never had the opportunity to go to prom, to also share the same experience. The Facebook event page said:

Tickets will be $5 donation for those planning to attend for support.. The prom is FREE to all special needs attendants.. GIRLS & BOYS ALL AGES Autistic, ADHD, Downs syndrome, cerebral palsy, physical disabilies etc to name a few....Share and if you have a special needs child who u may be interested in attending, or know someone who may have a child and would like to attend spread the word!!!!!!! Let's put a memorable smile on so many faces!!!!

King and queen, as well as a prince and princess were crowned. Dinner and a motivational speech preceded the dance. Crystal even flew in a young man and his mom from Atlanta after he was bullied online for having Down Syndrome.

Crystal, what a blessing you are to so many people. Thank you for this wonderful event!
