Fast-Food Employees To Go On Strike Today In Michigan
This past summer, we told you about a nationwide strike in which fast-food employees were expected to walk off the job hoping for a bigger paycheck. Well, here we go again!
This time, it involves 100 Michigan cities following encouragement from labor unions and a few others. They are looking for a pay increase, but also hoping for the right to form a union without the threat of a backlash, according to a recent report. And again, they want to raise the minimum wage to $15 per hour. Hell, I don't even make that much!
The last strike forced several restaurants to close up shop due to the lack of employees, but others were able to operate as if nothing had happened.
Doubling the minimum wage for fast-food employees would mean higher prices for customers. So what do you think? Is $15 per hour a fair wage for flipping burgers and saying "would you like fries with that?"
