When Dayna Morales got stiffed on a $93 restaurant tab by a family who didn't approve of her homosexuality, the Internet sprang to life in support of the former marine. But a New Jersey family has come forward, saying the server made the whole thing up.

The family contacted WNBC-TV in New York, providing an identical receipt to the one that Morales posted on her Facebook page, but it showed that the family had indeed left an $18 tip, and had not written a derogatory note criticizing the server's lifestyle.

In the weeks since Morales' story first broke, she has received an outpouring of support, and thousands of dollars in donations which she plans to donate to the Wounded Warriors Foundation.
