It wasn't to make people mad, but to make people "think."

A fake pub was set up along the route of Detroit's St. Patrick's Day parade on Saturday with an interesting twist - signs outside said "No Irish Pub."

People were understandably confused - was that the name of the pub? The bouncer at the door said that "immigrants are destroying this country" and that the Irish are "lazy" and "lower class citizens." And because everybody is Irish on St. Patrick's Day, nobody was allowed in.

A production company was hired to catch peoples' reactions to the "elite establishment." The creator, Dan Margulis, said he wanted to allow people to experience what it may have felt like, back in the day, to be an Irish immigrant.

Looks like it had the desired effect on people! Fascinating idea.
