Ernie Brown Jr. ‘Turtle Man’ Hunts for Snapping Turtles with His Bare Hands [VIDEO]

Dan Kitwood, Getty Images

Ernie Brown Jr. doesn’t use a gun or a hook to catch the turtles, he uses his bare hands, what a man. Ernie, despite being bitten 17 times, he still goes in hands first. Learn Ernie’s secret to success after the jump.

Ernie can tell where they’re hiding from the bubbles that surface on the water. Then he plunges his hands into the muddy bottom and feels for the snapper’s tail. Sometimes he finds their beak.

Snappers aren’t the only thing Ernie has had run-ins with. He says that he tries not to smile because he had his teeth knocked out by a chainsaw. I hate it when this happens.

I think Ernie deserves his own show on TV. Check out the video and watch Turtleman in action.
