Jason Chaffetz discussed a memo from the Environmental Protection Agency about the water crisis here in Flint. In the memo, Debbie Baltazar, the water division branch chief for the Environmental Protection Agency's Region 5 (which includes Michigan), stated the following:

In response, Monica Lee of the Office of Public Affairs with the EPA wrote NBC25 News, said that the email is from one employee, it doesn't represent the feelings of the entire EPA, and they are  "going to make sure this community gets the clean drinking water they deserve."

Pardon me while I roll my eyes until it hurts. The bottom line is clear - people knew, and nobody cared. That's all there is to it. I'm tired of hearing the word "failure." You know what you do when you fail? Pick yourself up and FIX IT. The finger pointing is getting old, and I think it's going to go on for a long, long time.
