Empty Bowls Fundraiser Helps Feed Hungry in Mid Michigan
The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan hopes you’ll join them for “Empty Bowls 2012″ on Thursday, September 27th. The Food Bank is holding this event to celebrate “National Hunger Awareness” month and to raise funds to fight hunger in this area.
The event will take place at the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, on Lapeer Road in Flint. There will be two seatings for Empty Bowls, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. You’ll enjoy a selection of delicious soups from area restaurants in a homemade bowl, many made by local art students and celebrities.
Special thanks go out to the Flint Institute of Arts for donating many of the artistic bowls.
Cost to attend Empty Bowls 2012 is $15. You get a good meal and a chance to tour the Food Bank. Entertainment will also be provided.
Your support can help solve food insecurity issues for many people right here at home.
