With another school district dealing with budget problems, comes some good news for eight teachers who were called back after being put on the layoff list in Davison. Employee concessions in health care costs helped make this happen, according to The Flint Journal.

The district thought they were going to have to layoff 20 teachers, but concessions of more than $1.2 million in health care costs, prevented this from happening and they were able to bring back eight employees, with the hopes of having two more come back for the next school year.

The board voted on Monday for the final approval and Finance Chairman Kim Lindsay is very pleased with the outcome:

'"This is another step by district employees to help the district. Everybody has stepped up to the plate.'"

The two year contract takes effect on July 1.
