Our sponsor Hurley Health and Fitness wants you to be aware that fad dieting isn't the healthiest way to lose weight. They have put together some information to help you eat healthier and to stay away from the "fad diets" that are out there.

Fad Dieting

There is a lot of misunderstanding surrounding fad dieting. Many people want to lose weight at a rate that is quicker than recommended, therefore more apt to try fad diets to speed the process along. Many fad diets can be unhealthy, unsafe, and are a large cause of yo-yo dieting. Rather than jumping on the diet rollercoaster, I challenge you to take a healthier route. I encourage everyone to become more educated about the food we put into our body and the nourishment that fuels our lives. You can learn more about food by visiting The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has recently updated its food pyramid to simulate an individual plate, making meal planning much easier and more understandable. You have the opportunity to learn about food composition, better food choices, download healthy recipes, and even have a personal meal plan individualized for you. Tracking your food daily will help you to stay on the right path towards a healthy lifestyle and the healthy weight that many people are striving for. The food knowledge you will gain will allow you the freedom to eat a large variety of food items, eat out at restaurants, and cook at home; all while working towards a healthy weight.
