A flyer depicting the face of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. superimposed on the body of a man sporting a large gold chain has gotten has gathered national attention for Flint, and disbelief from the fallen civil rights leader's daughter, The Rev. Dr. Bernice King. Dr. King called it "appalling" as she spoke with a Fox affiliate in Atlanta, Ga. (Video below)

"This imagery thing is just appalling, and it's almost embarrassing. For me, as his daughter, it's like 'wow', I lost a father who sacrificed everything for them to live a much more dignified and respectful life, and for it to come to this makes me sad."

The poster promotes a teen dance party scheduled for January 18th billed as the 'Freedom 2 Twerk Martin Luther King Day Party' at the Social Network Banquet and Event Center on Corunna Road. The event has since been cancelled, and is now being turned into an MLK tribute celebration.
