If you are you a big Simpson's fan? You’re in luck! Stamps featuring characters from the popular show were issued back in 2009 and 2010. Maybe you didn't get yours when they first came out, but it's not too late.

Marge, Homer, Bart, Lisa and Maggie's appeal on stamps must have been over stated by the post office plan, because only about a third of the stamps printed have been sold. The problem gets a little more challenging for the post office to get rid of them when you realize that the Simpson stamps are forty-four cent stamps, and since they were issued, stamps have risen to forty-five cents.— meaning the overage cost the USPS $1.2 million.

But even if all those stamps had sold, it wouldn’t have done much to help the postal service’s current financial woes. They just defaulted on a $5.5 billion payment it owes the US Treasury, and will likely miss another payment next month for the same amount.

Looks like the postal service is out a ton of…D’oh! (pun intended)
