The Detroit Dog Rescue is searching for a man who left a dog to freeze to death last night outside the animal shelter. The man was seen on surveillance video carrying the caged animal and dropping it off after the facility had closed.

Executive Director Kristina Rinaldi tells WDIV her agency is warning pet owners about the dangers pets face when they're left outside for even a short length of time.

"Every part of this dog was frozen. We are just sending a reminder warning that it's too cold to leave your dog outside for any length of time."
